ABOUT ME

Previous Work

I started playing guitar more than 14 years ago. Since then I've completed a 4 year honours degree at the University of Adelaide, I've played countless gigs including a major festival, I've written, recorded, and produced music that's traveled the world, and I've started my own business teaching private lessons and running workshops for local council. That's the short version, if you're interested in reading more, than I personally want to thank you for your interest and time, you can check out everything in a bit more detail below.

PRIVATE GUITAR TEACHER

2016 - Present Day

Like most private teachers, I started out teaching family and friends. Eventually I decided to turn teaching into a full-time business. It was slow going at first as I didn't know much about running a business, a few years later and here I am, loving every minute of it.

PROGRAM FACILITATOR

2018 - Present Day

By complete coincidence I ended up studying business at a local youth centre that had a strong focus on music (talk about luck). After introducing myself, I managed to land an opportunity assisting the facilitation of a band mentoring workshop, and the rest is history. Below is an outline of the workshops I've been involved with, and my rolls in them.

PROFESSIONAL MUSICIAN

2011 - Present Day

Over the years I've worn may hats as a professional musician. I've worked with heaps of different bands across a variety of styles and instruments. I've fronted, backed, recorded, and performed with all kinds of musicians. I've played countless gigs, many of them with bands, many without. I believe that playing with other people is one of the essential learning tools for becoming a better musician.

A one day program, run by former drummer for The Living End, Travis Demsey. The program involved mentoring young drummers on the fundamentals of drumming. My roll was to provide support by communicating with the participants and also playing guitar to accompany their drumming. For many, this was the first time they had played with another musician.

Another one day program that was built around bringing young kids together. Mostly we just had a blast decorating our bucket "drums," we also made rain sticks, and at the end everyone got to take their creations home with them.
